You wake up from cryosleep to the sound of alarms.  You need to escape from this facility pronto, but there's a catch - xenomorphs are pouring in at the same time.

You've got one thing going for you - SmartMatter™.   Each room in the facility has a controller that can drop crates of SmatterMatter onto the floor to block the tide of space critters from reaching you.  Even better, if you can match the color of 3 of these crates they'll collapse into a Turret.  Match 3 Turrets and they make a SuperTurret.  Match 3 SuperTurrets and they make a MegaTurret.  There might be even more upgrades in this manner!  Just make sure to leave yourself a route out of the room, wouldn't want to get blocked in.

ESC Protocol is a frantic mashup of tower defense and match 3, with PowerUps and Traps to add even more strategic depth.

Complete the game and you'll get access to the Level Select menu which includes an Endless Mode for the largest level.  The game saves your progress so if you leave and return, choose Continue to start from where you left off or Start to play from the beginning.

There's also an experimental Turn-Based Mode.  Give it a try if you're looking for an experience that gives you more time to plan.

(This game is a pre-Alpha prologue: it's missing features and has only 6 levels.  I've decided to pause development and see how this version of the game is received, and if there's sufficient interest I'll come back and take it further.  Please do comment if you like it and think it's worth improving!)

I love it, good stuff! I played the real time mode and it's quite hard, it's interesting how the match 3 constantly forces you to rethink the structure of your maze. It would have been cool if the colors of the turrets also meant different turret mechanics, but it's fun as is as well!

Thanks Dave!  Yes, good suggestion about distinguishing the colors.  It would really make you think about where you put them.  Glad you had fun!
